 Juliet and Chris

We wanted to get to know Juliet and Chris a little better and why they chose certain aspects for their wedding day, what a pleasure it was to help this gorgeous couple make their dream wedding a reality.

Where did you meet?

We met via a dating website.Match.com if anyone remembers that!

What did you do for your first date?

Had a couple of drinks at The Boat House.

How long have you been together?

Nearly seven years.

How and where did he/she propose?

We were on holiday in our favourite place, Croatia, and Chris proposed on our first night. We were at a favourite drinking spot, located in a charming location on the seashore of Rovinj's bay bathed in orange sunset. Chris arranged for our drinks order to be brought to our table and on the tray of drinks was the engagement ring so he got down on one knee and proposed to me. Everyone cheered and clapped!

How long were you engaged before you got married?

15 months.

What made you decide to go with the venue you chose for your wedding day?

We’re big fans of greenery, beautiful gardens and a peaceful setting. La Haie Fleurie had all of this and more.

Where did you go on your hen /stag do’s?

Kept it local and had parties at a Jersey Heritage site. Couldn’t do any travel really because about 80% of Juliet’s guests were pregnant!

Where did you both get ready the night before your wedding?

Chris got ready at home where he felt most comfortable. Juliet got ready at her bridesmaid’s house in St Brelades Bay which is beautiful.

Where did you stay the night of your wedding?

We just stayed at home! We didn’t feel the need to stay in a hotel just to crash out.

Did you have a small or large wedding?

Somewhere in between. We had around 60 guests for the day and a further 20 for the evening. It was perfect.

Do you have a favourite photo from your wedding day? If so, why is it your fave and which one?

Yes, the photo where Chris and I are on the dance floor, surrounded by friends but we’re just in this moment together. He’s dipping me backwards and I’m laughing so hard. It just captures the feel of the day and the nature of our relationship.

What was your first dance song and is there a story behind why you chose this song?

Adele – One and Only. No real reason why, just a beautiful song that is less well known.

What made your wedding day unique?

The venue. We had never attended a wedding there and when we told people where the reception was, most people had never heard of it.

What your favourite part of your wedding day?

The drinks reception on the lawn. The sun suddenly came out, we had started to relax and we were enjoying champagne whilst welcoming our guests.

Where did you get your inspiration and styling for your wedding?

Pinterest! We have always loved an outdoor/garden look for weddings and Pinterest was full of great ideas to get the creative juices flowing.

Where did you go/are going on your honeymoon?

We had two - a mini moon in Dubrovnik immediately after the wedding then our honeymoon to different parts of Thailand in the January.

Did you have anything homemade at your wedding?

Yes, but not homemade by us! A very talented baker friend made our wedding cake. It meant so much more having a friend make it.

What was your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?

I really struggled for my something old but then I remembered by sister-in-law had given me a sixpence so this was perfect. My something new was my dress and everything else that went with it. My borrowed was a bridal handbag and my something blue was the stitching on my garter that read ‘Mrs Peace’.

Is there anything you would change about your wedding day?

No! Wouldn’t change a thing.

What advice would you give to brides & grooms planning their wedding?
