Michelle and Ross

We wanted to get to know Michelle and Ross a little better and why they chose certain aspects of their wedding day, it was such a joy and a pleasure to help this wonderful couple make their dream wedding a reality.

Where did you meet?
We officially met at The Royal Yacht, but we did
already know of each other from primary school.

How long have you been together?
It will be 8 years in June

How and where did he/she propose?
He proposed at home on a Friday when I got in from
work and he organised for a Bentley to pick us up and
take us out for dinner at Cafe Poste to celebrate,
followed by champagne at the Grand Hotel with

What made you decide to go with the venue you
chose for your wedding day?
We chose St Ouens Manor because the grounds were
so naturally beautiful and we wanted to choose a
venue where we hadn’t been to for a wedding before.

Where did you go on your hen /stag do’s?
Ross went to Las Vegas for his stag do and I went to
Ibiza for my hen do. We both had local hen/stag dos
too because one is never enough!

Where did you both get ready the night before your
Ross got ready at his parents house and I got ready at
St Brélades Bay Hotel

Did you have a small or large wedding?
We would say it was quite a large wedding with a
total of 137 guests!

Do you have a favourite photo from your wedding
day? If so, why is it your fave and which one?
There are too many to choose from as Daisy did such
a wonderful job. If we did have to pick one it would
be where we had about 20 minutes to ourselves
walking and talking through the grounds of the manor
where we could reflect on how perfect our day was
and the sun was just setting which made the pictures
look even more amazing.

What was your first dance song and is there a story
behind why you chose this song?
We chose ‘if I had a gun’ by Noel Gallagher’s high
flying birds because this was the song playing when
Ross proposed. It was also sung at our first jersey live

What made your wedding day unique?
To have all our family and friends where some had
travelled from overseas come celebrate our wedding
day made it unique for us.

Where did you get your inspiration and styling for
your wedding?
Mainly from Pinterest and with the help of Marquee
Solutions and our florist Eden by Claire. We wanted it
have a summer party feel to it with pops of colour of
pinks and corals.

Did you have anything homemade at your wedding?
Our seating plan was homemade, using our bedroom
mirror and a white chalk pen. Also a few little signs
around the venue were also homemade.

What was your something old, something new,
something borrowed and something blue?
Something old and borrowed was my great grandmas
broach which I had attached to my bouquet.
Something new was my dress and shoes and
something blue was the garter my grandma had
handmade for me.

Is there anything you would change about your
wedding day?
Only if you could make the day longer where it didn’t
have to end.

What advice would you give to brides & grooms
planning their wedding?
Enjoy every part of the journey leading up to and on
your wedding day. We really enjoyed all the planning
and made the most of every part of it, we even hosted
a wine tasting evening with friends to help choose the
wine for our wedding! Just remember your going to
have all your favourite people in one room to
celebrate your day, and it will be the best day ever!
